The AmericInn by Wyndham Ottumwa often holds a special place in my travel heart, but my recent stay over Easter revealed some mixed feelings. The hotel itself remains impressively clean and tidy, which is always a plus for our family when traveling. The complimentary hot breakfast, featuring waffles and fresh fruit, is perfect for refueling before a day of outdoor adventures, like walking along the picturesque paths by the rippling Des Moines River. Despite the friendly customer service, the changes there have left me a bit disheartened. The hotel's ideal location offers easy access to local sights like the Wapello County Historical Museum, which we've always enjoyed exploring. While the property's amenities and comforts are commendable, I hope AmericInn can regain the charm that once made it a standout.
